NARF undertakes research and trials for the benefit of its regional owners. The aim is to lead the way in showing new techniques and to provide training opportunities for young farmers and students.
NARF has developed a Northland wide focus, managed by an executive committee of Northland farmers and rural professionals.
Kaipara Farm Vets are involved with the farm, not only as the vets servicing the farm but also on the NARF Management Committee. Our involvement includes fortnightly meetings on-farm and assisting with the management of what is considered an important facility for Northland. This is a significant investment of time, but we feel it is well worthwhile for such an important resource in our area.
NDDT (Northland Dairy Development Trust) was formed in 2006 to support farmers in securing quality dairy research relevant to Northland. The trust is a joint initiative between NARF and Fonterra.
To add to this, NARF are active participants in the Zoetis/Plasback Teatseal® Recycling Program.
